AE Apocalypse Earth
During such a chaotic moment in history, what role do you see yourself in? As a leader, as a follower or as a scared little child whose eyes are filled with tears? Personally, I would like to believe that when the troubles are finally tackled, I will be at the front, leading the young to a place of safety and a place where I will stand. But then, if such a place is not indicated, what else would somebody in my position be called another follower?
Such a situation is rather sickening, particularly because now, and rarely in my life, I have been a leader, at work. There are places I know so well that in such circumstances, I wouldn’t be a very good one to follow if I had to lead my element. The next time the town is quiet, I’ll have to drive around more of the surrounding areas to scout for the best possible spot to hunker down during the real shitstorm.
The humans are losing a war against unknown aliens. While humans struggle for freedom, the solution for survival is the evacuation. Lieutenant Baum and his men manage to escape from earth just before the evacuation arks become scarce. The lieutenant is not very thrilled with the prospect of cryogenic sleep during the journey but goes along with it since he is not the captain. He puts away his conditioning equipment and is placed in a sleep state, only to be roused later on when the ship is already nearing a planet.
Baum sits in his chamber and observes as the ship he is aboard crashes, once conscious he witnesses the slaughter of his fellow passengers, whose attackers remain hidden from sight. Due to the chaos, which is provided by the rescuers, the captain is able to save a crew member only to be put into another panic, where it is understood they have lost their chance of saving the rest of the crew.
Choosing his battles wisely, Baum applies what he knows to great effect and comes across other survivors of the crash, as well as a bunch of other humans who had obey at the planet for over a year. Learning what he is really facing from the other group, Baum takes his followers on a journey towards enemy lands where the hope of a lift home makes the expedition hard to refuse.
This is one Sci-fi film that most definitely will keep you watching until the last second. The scenes in the movie that portrays the group figuring out how to fight the unseen enemies called Chameleons and what other mysteries the planet has in store is definitely worth the watch. If you are hoping to have emotional attachments with the characters and get upset when they die, then perhaps you should consider reading a Game of Thrones book.
This is solely the tale of Lieutenant Baum attempting only to discharge his duties and rescuing the people assigned to him and possibly a local humanoid called Lea. Given the fact that every step of his journey involves innumerable dangers, he gets decided to make the ultimate moves and suppress his instincts in order to protect everyone until a way out from that bloodbath of a planet is discovered. The stars are mere arm’s length away. Happy Viewing.
