Moreover, this presents an opportunity for a movie which can use brand new IPs where real people are involved in creating them sustainably. This full-length feature film is part of a series and combines action, romance and fairy tales using revolutionary technologies hence creating a different world that is both contemporary and timeless at the same time. The vast digital world filled with photorealistic elements offers viewers hyper real experiences with cutting-edge virtual background sets, procedural Artificial Intelligence as well as Computer Generated Imagery creatures among other things.

Ryan M commented on how interesting this film was because there were so many cgi effects used; “Wow but wow! Princess Halle and the Jester is such an interesting film with all the CGI. It is so interesting and funny with lots of dramatic action. It has everything you can think of in a film and it is not a “once upon a time” movie. It’s action royal a kind of movie I just love.” Eshaan M agrees saying that what makes ‘Princess Halle’ stand out from other action fantasy films are its plots: “The plot of Princess Halle and the Jester really makes it stand out from any other action/fantasy film. It’s somewhere between Lord of the Rings and a kids’ show like Sophia the First. Halle’s character is well built out, and we see her evolve and mature mentally and emotionally throughout the film.” Read their complete reviews below.

Wow but wow! Princess Halle and the Jester is such an interesting film with all the CGI. It is so interesting funny exciting thrilling enjoyable indeed entertaining hilarious amusing suspenseful moving touching thought-provoking engaging dramatic breathtaking mind-blowing fascinating intense amazing fantastic wonderful terrific fabulous great good super excellent marvelous awesome with lots of dramatic action. It’s got everything you could ever want from a movie, and it’s not once upon a time either. It’s action royal – my kind of movie.” This film tells us about fairy tales; this movie doesn’t have to end with a royal wedding; this movie ends unlike any other Royal Fairy Tale Movie.

The storyline follows the kingdom being attacked by an army of goblins who then kidnap their king (played by Byron Herlong) and turn him into stone. Young princess Halle (Emma Duchesneau) runs off with jester Henri (Duncan Novak), who takes her to his hometown, but she wants to go back so guards take her away and kill Henri’s grandpa (Geoffrey Lyons). They fight evil goblin queen Priscilla (Rachel Stacy) together.

The CGI in this film is amazing! And how that dragon looks too… First, it starts off cute, small harmless looking thing but then they make it big ready to fly-across the world kinda deal. The animator deserves some serious credit for making everything look so good. While the costume does make Henri look like just another villager, the dress on our princess definitely makes her look royal – I mean come on! That necklace looks like an actual gemstone or something!! Also can we talk about Justine Sylvie? Cause girl went above-and-beyond with these hair/makeup designs here. talkin’ bout some Regal updo madness ya know?! Anyway Keith Lee did great job giving bright colors yet still realistic vibes to our dragons, love that guy lol! Overall though? I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!! It really has that whole “Royal FairyTale” genre locked down tight & executed extremely well throughout entire production!! Only thing bugged me was when they’re fighting Goblin Queen. Halle hits wall falls down screaming pain BUT NO SOUND?? Weird

Perfect for those who enjoy fantasy, Princess Halle and The Jester is an intricate story that includes action, drama, and surprising twists. It’s worth a watch despite the clunky scriptwriting and acting, as well as some poor computer-generated imagery (CGI).

The movie follows Princess Halle (Emma Duchesneau), a teenage royal who is grieving the death of her mother. During the coronation of her stepmother Queen Priscilla (Rachel Stacy), goblins attack the castle and kidnap Halle’s father King Victor (Byron Herlong), taking him to another world. While she tries to save her dad and bring balance back to the realm, she also has to fend off her stepmom’s accusation that she conspired with the goblins to steal her father’s throne.

The plot of Princess Halle and the Jester truly sets it apart from any other action/fantasy film I’ve seen. It’s like if Lord of the Rings had a baby with Sophia the First somewhere in between those worlds. Halle’s character is so well-developed throughout; we really get to see her grow up mentally and emotionally.

I also really enjoyed Henri (Duncan Novak) as the jester, who acts as Halle’s sidekick; he was given such a positive and supportive role, and he played it really well. Unfortunately there are moments where Princess Halle and the Jester lets itself down technically mainly due to its budget. The CGI looks very basic, almost old-fashioned; in many scenes one where a dragon takes King Victor away, another where our characters pass through otherworldly groves and forests you can tell they’re standing in front of green screens with artificial graphics behind them; both backgrounds and characters are quite roughly rendered, you can see individual frames on some of the motion animations, etc.; other technical things could have been refined too camerawork is sometimes awkward, with diagonal panning and some untimely cuts, etc. However the movie is carried through by performances from the supporting cast, who really give it their all, and a well written script.

The dialogue writing in this film is so nice; it’s crafted more like a work of theatre than cinema in parts which makes sense as you can break down the action into three acts like a stage play and Justine Sylvie absolutely aced the costumes and hair and makeup (which is one element of this movie that I really love). Besides fighting for justice at all costs, another thing Princess Halle and The Jester advocates for is keeping your heart good no matter what!
