The story is about a girl from Bihar who got married to a boy from Jharkhand and how they were stuck on the boundary of the states when the lockdown was announced in wake of COVID-19 pandemic.
‘Kusum Ka Biyaah’ is an eye-opening narrative reflecting how decisions made by central government can affect people living in villages during such troubled times as COVID-19. This film tells us a lot through its heartwarming plot about tensions and conflicts between Bihar and Jharkhand while throwing light upon what common man has to go through because of bureaucratic red tape or government loopholes.
At its heart lies Sunil (Lovekansh Garg) and Kusum (Sujana Darjee) who were supposed to get married but their joyous moment was ruined due to nationwide lock-down. They were left stranded at the bamboo bridge connecting Bihar with Jharkhand where wedding party faces new problems coming up against them every step of way until overcoming them by showing resilience against all odds.
Emotionally charged script penned by Suvendu Raj Ghosh makes audience feel with characters more deeply than ever before, however strange events take place here caused by pandemic and reveal different aspects of life lived under snares woven by governments within states themselves let alone outside world .
While playing roles both actors have shown great talent not often seen in movies these days where only big names matter most; Lovekansh Garg’s acting skills are simply outstanding while that of Sujana Darjee is also commendable though less so. What lets down production values are low budget but this gets compensated for through use traditional music along with background score provided by Bhanu Pratap Singh which serve to heighten emotional resonance bound up with storytelling itself.
All told ‘Kusum Ka Biyaah’ becomes high spirited commentary on society’s difficulties, red tapes involved in bureaucracy as well as resilience among individuals when faced with challenges. This movie stands out as an example of what can be achieved through real life stories telling and acting by ordinary people who may not have big names but still tell story which touches hearts deeply making it more thought provoking than any other film you will see this year.
