Kamthaan

Kamthaan

The police theft at his home? Yes, that’s Kamthaan for you. A situational comedy where a small time thief commits the biggest heist of his life in the house of an inspector who had just been promoted. What follows is mayhem; The town goes into chaos as the criminal and his leader try to secrete away their loot while the cops try to apprehend him before an important day ahead. It’s a laugh riot every now and then and it is packed with power because of its actors comic timing.

Nothing works in Anjanipur for SR Rathod, who has recently been promoted to sub inspector there whether it be lights on his desk at office or even his own motorcycle (which doesn’t start half of times). Raghlo, a small time thief steals everything from uniforms all way up to pistols but not before having them blessed by Chhanalal local goon leader looking exact revenge against whole police department; And so he hides raghlo somewhere nobody would know about including SI himself. When Rathod’s boss mandates that he turn over his gun for Republic Day parade chaos ensues; With a wacky team but one smart constable with him, Sr rathod sets out on mission finding this thief as it will save face for himself being reputation at stake

Review

Kamthaan is a fun, mischievous game of cat and mouse between thieves and the police adapted from Ashwini Bhatt’s novel directed by Dhrunad Kamble and Abhishek Shah. While it takes a little too long to set the plot in motion in its first half, the second half more than makes up for it with strong performances, scenes, and songs that will leave you wanting more. The music and background sound by Mehul Surti deserves special mention as they are truly unsung heroes of this film whether funny or intense shots, this music lifts up each scene.

With just one fierce look SR Rathod played by Hitu Kanodia instantly establishes himself as an aggressive cop who means business! Sanjay Goradia (Raghlo) & Arvind Vaidya (Chhanalal) deliver such great performances here that it might make people nostalgic. Darshan Jariwalla never fails to convince us all as head constable, while Shilpa Thakar steals every scene she appears in playing the sharp-tongued Panni Foi. But my favorite character has got to be Deep Vaidya who always gets laughs with his perfectly timed comedic lines!

It’s not often you hear a line like “Nana manas na haathe lakhato hoye tyare khabar na ho ke itihas rachahyi rahyo che” during an all-out comedy film; but that’s what sets ‘Kamthaan’ apart from the rest so go watch it now with your friends & family because this one is guaranteed riotous laughter!
