Over the course of a dozen stormy years, Kavya Ganeshan (Vidya Balan) and Aniruddh Banerjee (Pratik Gandhi) have been married. They fell in love during three years of dating but ended up running away together. However, they grew apart as time went on and their relationship became stagnant. While there is little left between them that’s alive, Kavya has found comfort in the arms of Vikram (Sendhil Ramamurthy), an Indo-American photographer living in India; and Aniruddh seeks solace with Nora (Ileana D’Cruz), a hopeful actor.
Both couples think about calling it quits when Kavya receives news that her grandfather has died. This prompts her to return to Ooty, her hometown. She is joined by Aniruddh who adds tension to the already strained relationship she has with her family particularly her father Venkat (Thalaivasal Vijay), who never forgave them for eloping.
In this house of mourning, they find themselves confronting their feelings and rediscovering the love that brought them together in the first place. Their time there sets off a series of events that explores love, forgiveness and second chances like no other.
Do Aur Do Pyaar takes an honest look at extramarital affairs within marriages showing all sides from highest highs to lowest lows without passing judgement or interpretation onto viewers’ behalfs; leaving room for individual opinion based on personal experiences instead. Vidya Balan shines as always playing someone rekindling passion outside their marriage while Pratik Gandhi matches her every step along this emotional roller coaster ride called life.

Putting Vidya Balan opposite Pratik Gandhi was nothing short of genius as both actors know how to play off each other’s strengths while hiding weaknesses under layers upon layers like seasoned trapeze artists waiting patiently for just right moment trusting one another wholeheartedly knowing full well if need be partner will always be there ready and willing not only reach out but catch hold tight enough so neither falls too far too fast or hard against ground once more; they look married alright many times over already without even trying too hard at all! Vidya Balan carries herself throughout with grace personified every smile, every ache feels true to her character because she no longer sees herself acting out someone else’s life but rather living them instead.
The same can be said about Pratik Gandhi whose comedic timing shone through brilliantly during his previous role in Madgaon Express (2024) where he showed great potential as comic actor which continues here as well. His chemistry alongside Vidya forms soul this film needs desperately if ever it hopes for any chance success beyond mere box office numbers alone.
Sendhil Ramamurthy and Ileana D’Cruz both represent “the other woman” in marriages; however, they are not portrayed as home wreckers since their love seems genuine but ill-fated meeting right person wrong time sort of thing ya know). Both Senthil & Illeana did justice playing these characters with utmost sincerity required from such roles indeed!
