This anime has a progressive plot since it is based on manga. The anime is still new; it was released October 9th, 2022. Bocchi the Rock! is greatly successful because this anime has some factors which attract its viewers, but let’s talk about the plot of Bocchi the Rock! first.
Hitori Gotoh aka Bocchi is a high schooler who wants to become the best guitarist in the world but there’s one problem: social anxiety disorder, fear of interaction and basically being an introvert. She panics because her future may be game over life down. She thinks about forming a band then immediately dismisses idea after realizing it would mean talking to people. One day, someone comes into her life that will change everything for her. Nijika needs a guitarist; she spots bocchi so now bocchi is at Nijika’s with one of Nijika’s friends Ryo after performing with them then stopping due to how bad they were together. But even though that went horribly they never gave up and bocchi promises nijika she’ll help improve them no matter what. From nothing to modest fame is where band will go through journey of having. There are many more things that happen but those are main points of plot for Bocchi the Rock!.
I was excited to write this review because it’s just so different from anything else out there right now. The story line was enjoyable and each character’s development throughout the anime was well done; because Bocchi is the main character she gets most of it but still does so smoothly in my opinion. I really love what happens with bocchi after meeting Nijika, kita and ryo where she goes through a character development arc. Their journey doesn’t always go smooth sailing either they have many things to prepare for their concert as well as Bocchi having a social anxiety attack that she has to deal with while hard but best never give up until together at their second concert prevail and really shines bocchi her true self comes out but not least graphics for slice of life are amazing despite some CGI being used here there which is appropriate hence why its so charming.
This anime attracts its viewers because it isn’t just about cute anime girls doing cute anime things; it’s also about someone trying to get over social anxiety, struggling with forming a band, and friendship making. And this is what helps them win Anime of the Year 9th Anime Trending Awards against other competitors. So if you’re looking for something different give Bocchi the Rock! a try.
