Plot
Venkat (Karthikeya) and Raju (Rahul Tyson) are two sons of poor farmer (Tanikella Bharani). After being cheated by different people Venkat moves to the city to become a cricketer while Raju wants to be Software Engineer. However, after losing all his money on gambling with IPL betting they realized that their right path is not so easy. So they decide to rob David’s car who happens to be mafia kingpin but things go wrong when the Cops start chasing them across state lines and eventually arrest both brothers at same time what’s more interesting is What were those things inside that stolen vehicle? Who were those folks behind organized crime syndicate? And how did Venkat save his father life? These will form remaining part of the story.
Plus Points
The biggest strength of this film lies in its unpredictable twists & turns which keeps us glued till end. Second half has engaging drama mixed with edge of seat thrilling moments making it an interesting watch.
Kartikeya fits well into role assigned to him. He looks phenomenal as bold young guy taking risks at every step in life . All action episodes involving Karthikeya have come out superbly well & Iswarya Menon does justice but her character doesn’t demand much except for one shocking revelation towards interval block that leaves audience awestruck.
Ravi Shankar delivers another top-notch performance playing main antagonist here . His intense acting during high voltage sequences gives added advantage for director’s narration. Heroine character should’ve been portrayed little stronger though she gets involved into major twist which acts as turning point during first half hour itself. Rahul Tyson is back once again after long gap post Happy Days fame movie and he gets equally important role like that of hero which suits him perfectly.
Director Prashanth Reddy deserves special applause for his intelligent writing skills. Simple story line has been narrated cleverly with added elements like suspense, thrills etc making it gripping throughout. Tanikella Bharani shines in limited screen time given to him as father of two sons.
Minus Points
The film starts on a bit dull note as director takes too much time establish basic plot. Even after 20 mins into the movie actual story point has not been opened up by director which causes some lag in narration.
Though heroine track lacks strength still her love towards protagonist could’ve shown more subtly instead of exaggerating through actions at certain places where situation demands less emotional involvement from her side.
Two negative characters having problems among themselves looks routine and doesn’t create any great impact on proceedings but these things have been neatly covered with racy screenplay.
Technical Aspects
Songs composed by Radhan are just average while BGM given by Kapil Kumar stands out.Action episodes are done well especially car chase fight appears real.Dialogues were fine so was editing.Production values were good.Cinematography work is decent along with neat production design.
When talking about director Prashanth Reddy, he does make a good first film. What shows that he is both a writer and director with potential is how he takes simple stories and adds many twists and turns into them. Even though the story is simple, there are hardly any dull moments. As far as directing goes, he has a bright future.
Verdict
All in all, Bhaje Vaayu Vegam is an average commercial entertainer with some good surprises up its sleeve. The film starts off on a very slow note and takes its own sweet time to get into the main plot but once it does, it keeps you entertained decently well.
