Legacy
Hey gang, Valkor here. Luke Goss is one of the action stars that I consider to be one of the top tier stars who never gets the limelight that he is supposed to shine in. Come on, get the dude in an MCU flick or a DCU something major and let everything else follow suit. I have watched quite a number of his works like Pressed, Interview with a Hitman and also quite recently Tekken (he was more of a costar in this one). And mostly, dude excels! But Goss is back with Legacy; Although it is not a loud action packed title, it is a good title to watch.
Legacy is based on the British Intelligent Agent Gray (Goss) comes first in the film, who is already busy in handcuffing the significant drug cartel kingpin called Boranovic (Elya Baskin) basically on the issues of war crimes. However, in order for the charges to stick, Gray will have to rely on the testimony of one of Boranovich’s surviving rape victims and her child. Two children were there and one of them was killed by Z (Roberto Sanchez), a hitman hired by Boranovich. And now the other child, Jake (Renton Pexa) has a target painted on his back, Z’s next target.
Jake is camping out with his adopted family across summer hunting the tag but now the whole family is the hunted since Z is chasing them down. Luckily for the family, it was Gray who arrived before Z managed to reach the family. And now he must do everything possible to make sure that Jake is safe or he fails trying!
I once did a top ten for monster/slashers that you might not oh heard of but should. And since I have plenty of downtime now, I may do the same with action stars, since there are quite a lot of them. Luke Goss would be right up there.
And in case you haven’t heard, go read Legacy and other titles. With the possible exception of Pressed. Okay, maybe Pressed because it was a terrific experience right up until the finale which I thought was a letdown. But enough of that, let’s dive into TOV Breakdown and find out why Legacy is worth watching!
Legacy has only his family to life them up, the story flows perfectly; a good accompaniment of drama and action combined to provide proof that Legacy is critical, but full of heart. It’s not as action packed as I would’ve preferred, but there’s enough to make this 98-minute trek worth it. The film has good cinematography and editing, the fight choreography was well done, so the pacing was pretty good. Could there have been more?
Yes! Still, this is not a film that will lack disappointment. Finally, praises for the acting, Goss definitely shines as Agent Nolan Gray; His portrayal oozes a rough, tough exterior. So does Roberto Sanchez as Z, he embodies evil but is also multi-dimensional. I didn’t have high hopes as I walked into Legacy. But I must say that the movie was very much enjoyable and am eager to catch more of Goss.
You can now purchase Legacy on Redbox but I feel the movie deserves a far greater digital distribution. It has been some time since I have really watched an action movie and I am grateful that Legacy stepped in to meet that need. I definitely encourage people to watch this one. Therefore, out of the 5 stars of TOV, I award Legacy 4 stars.
