SEAL Team VI
Although many audiences have been anticipating its experience since January‘s distinct release, you could soothe your curiosity first by the cross-border film SEAL Team Six. I can’t compare this to Zero Dark Thirty but I would say this feature Film SEAL Team Six has its moments of effectiveness with its more low-key style while still attempting to recreate the feeling of realism.
The events of the assault on Bin Laden in Pakistan get detail in this film that was directed by John Stock well. One distinct feature of this film is that it employs a tri-fold technique in relaying the story to the audience. The account is viewed through the perspectives of the CIA as well as SEAL Team six in addition to a Pakistani intelligence pair who are helping the USA. Stock well is able to link the three bodies and show us their problems in making this mission a success.
Quite a number of readers would remember Mr. William Fichtner (The Dark Knight, Entourage) an American actor and in the film, he portrays Mr. Guidry who is a CIA officer. It appears that Fichtner is the only able actor in this film, which is troubled once in a while with some slow, poor script writing, and acting.
Other members on the CIA side include Kathleen Robertson (Boss) and Eddie Kaye Thomas of American Pie. As for the SEAL cast members, I think Cam Gigandet (The Roommate) was the most well known but I had a hard time believing him as a leading member of the most prestigious special force in the globe. Let’s be honest The SEALs are not just any kind of bad ass. In fact, the actor plays a solid role of a seal but his looks do not help in the entirety. He seems to be too much of a pretty boy for this role and this takes away quite a bit of the credibility.
Notwithstanding its missteps, the film has its winning portions. The first scene set in the Afghan mountains is laden with tension, the exchange of hellos and goodbyes via a phone to their relatives is emotional and the raid on the Bin Laden compound is interesting, albeit not dramatic. From what I can see, I can tell that a lot of effort was put into making this film.
However, I am interested to find out what other differences there are between this and its counterpart, Zero Dark Thirty which will be released soon. I have already noticed some like the pair of Blackhawks that transported the SEALs, but the supposedly top edge Comanche stealth chopper which was an essential component of the plan is missing from the film. Then again, being a small independent movie, they did their best with the limited resources at their disposal.
