HARRY POTTER A series of films based on J.K. Rowling’s book series set in a world of wizards that exists parallel to the non-magical world. The universe consists of eight parts of “Harry Potter” movies and a series of five films entitled “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them“.
The screen world began with the film “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone“. The main character Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) at the age of 11 discovers that he is the son of wizards. He soon begins his studies at the Hogwarts School of Magic and fight against the evil wizard Voldemort who is responsible for the death of his parents. As expected, the show turned out to be a huge box office success and soon its sequels were released. Eight films about Harry Potter’s adventures were made between 2001 and 2011 earned billion dollars in cinemas all over the world.
The phenomenon success of the harry porter series made Warner Bros decide to produce a spin-off. The action of “Fantastic Beasts” takes place several years before the events from “Harry Potter“. The film tells the adventures of magi zoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) who, together with his friends, faces the army of the wicked sorcerer Grindelwald.
One of the important part of the Harry Potter film universe is David Heyman, who produced all the titles in the series to date. J.K. Rowling also takes an active part in the works on the Movies.
The “Harry Potter” franchise also includes video games, audiobooks and theme parks.
