A Beautiful Mind is about a famous mathematician named John Nash. This arrogant genius cruised through college after making a discovery that is still appreciated today. A Beautiful Mind brings us on Nash’s difficult journey of self-discovery after he finds out that he is a schizophrenic. He must realize what is real in life and what is in his mind. And choose between his career and his saneness. This movie covers his life from his early days at Princeton, to the time he won the Nobel Prize.
This is one of the best movies I’ve ever seen in my life! Terrific acting by both Russell Crow and Jennifer Connelly. Both deserve Oscars, not to mention a outstanding job of directing by Ron Howard. I cannot imagine anyone doing a better job then Russell Crow! I wasn’t really impressed by Gladiator, but in Beautiful Mind he was perfect!
This is an excellent story that needed to be told! And it was told terrifically! Although coming into the movie I knew he was schizophrenic, when you find out who he is imagining and who is really there, you go back and realize “Yeah!”. Its one of those movies that you are just in awe of how you were tricked just like him.
In conclusion,
This is one of the only movies that is so critically acclaimed, and that I actually loved! I hate usually don’t like the movies that win the Oscars, but I loved this and its got more Oscar buzz then any other movie! Even if you think, “This isn’t my kind of movie”, go see it! Because you’re wrong you’ll love it!
