REVIEW

Ghost World is about two high-school friends, Enid and Rebecca, who are trying to figure out what to do next after high school. Rebecca gets a job, while Enid decides that jobs are for losers. One day they both decide to play a practical joke on some guy looking for a girl he met at an airport a while before. Soon though Enid begins to fall Seymour.

As you might have realized by now, this is not a scary movie. (The title fooled be, but whatever!) I’d have to say that this is one of the quirkiest, weirdest comedies I’ve seen. How can I say this, a lot of the jokes aren’t “intellectually light”.

Steve Buscemi and Thora Birch each do an excellent job. I’ve always admired Buscemi, but I could never forgive Birch for American Beauty!

This is really a very different movie, both as a comedy and as a drama. Its very heavy yet very enjoyable. I recommend it to anyone who has an interest in these kinds of quirky movies.

In conclusion

if you’re looking for a movie that is different, good. If you’re looking for a movie that is funny, good. If you’re looking for a movie that is intellectual, good. If you want to see the movie and want me to end this review right here, GREAT!
