Orange County is about a smart qualified kid, living in a shallow, (excuse me but) dumb town. Shaun Brumder had his heart set on going to Stanford, but his guidance councilor accidentally sent in the wrong transcript, and he didn’t get in. Now he has to convince Stanford (the only school to which he applied, the councilor told him he was a shoe in) that he is actually a terrific student and that Stanford is where he belongs.
I enjoyed just about every minute of this movie. It was funny, but not stupid, it had great dialogue, but it wasn’t corny. The most important thing for a movie to be, is enjoyable. You just have to have fun at the theatre, and this was a fun movie to watch. The combination of different aspects of enjoyablility, just created a great combination. There’s not much more I can say. I don’t know what was so special about it, but Orange County is special.
Told well! Orange County took a not so original plot, and made it good. With some hilarious scenes with Jack Black, deep and meaningful characters this movie was excuse the pun, Peachy!
