REVIEW

40 Days And 40 Nights is about a guy who when Lent comes, decides to give up sex. 40 days of nothing. He’s co-workers start a website, and a pool to guess when he is going to give it up. All is well until he meets the girl of his dreams and he has no way of explaining to her what’s going on!

Certainly not a movie for everyone (The synopsis isn’t even for everyone!) I will definitely say that most people that see a preview will either think this movie is disgraceful, and that the trailers should be taken off the TV OR will beg to see it but not be able to because their parents wouldn’t let them.

Now that I’m past the warning, it was pretty enjoyable! Its funny how some movies are rated R for silly reasons like they say a couple bad words or there are some violent action scenes and then there are movies like these that are rated R for a reason, a VERY good reason! Dirty comedy, sex scenes (Yes, in a movie about abstinence there were several sex scenes! No, I don’t know how they do it.) nudity etc.

Ok, now I’m really passed the warning! This movie’s hilarious, I laughed my butt off half the movie. And the plot isn’t half bad either. They did a good job with characterization and dialogue too. Some might call it a romantic comedy (I wouldn’t. It certainly can’t be put in the same category as “The Wedding Planner!) but it wasn’t too corny for me!
