Venom: Let There Be Carnage Review

There is a scene in “Venom” in which the title stranger reveals his reasons to the journalist: “On my planet I am also a nerd like you, but here we can do more”. So Venom has very specific plans. No more pushing, time to be a hero!

Venom: Let There Be Carnage Beginning

The beginning of Venom 2 Carnage shows, however, how few of these plans remain. There is far less head-eating than a carnivorous alien could wish for. He even looks at the chickens in a loving manner now – after all, a pair of birds are named Sonny and Cher, how could he hurt them? No, eating them. a lovely duo is out of the question. Venom tamed, Venom frustrated, after all, he had promised himself great adventures, but this boring Eddie undermines all his brilliant ideas (such as brain draining a random pickpocket in a dark alley).

While in the first part the creators had to present the process the birth of the relationship between the symbiote and its carrier, in the second part we already get a good old marriage. Eddie and Venom know their vices and habits very well. One day they have a fierce argument, the next the sticky tentacles of aliens fry eggs in agreement. The bromance between the main characters is basically the axis that holds the entire movie and its most important source of humor. What worked well in the previous part of the story about an unusual friendship plays perfectly here as well. If it weren’t for the witty dialogues and quarrels between two buddies, it would be hard to get a positive note for Serkis’s painting.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage Plot

There are no interesting plot twists and unconventional solutions. The plot of the villain, Cletus Kasady, seems more interesting than the story of the scientist with the God Complex in the first part saga, but it is largely due to Woody Harrelson . Of course, this is not the most outstanding performance in his career, but whoever has seen films with Harrelson knows that he is flawlessly playing the role of Natural Born Killers.

It is interesting that the filmmakers develop as many as three love themes. The first, and also the most conventional, is the story of Anne (Michelle Williams), Eddie’s ex-girlfriend and good doctor Dan (Reid Scott). The second, perversely, is the relationship between Eddie and Venom, because although there is no romantic element in it, friendship turns out to be the best remedy for a broken heart at the end of the day. The last thread is a story about Cletus’ first love, which Serkis leads partly in the convention of a road movie, because here we get two outcasts (a psychopath and a mutant) escaping from the police in a stolen car.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage Conclusion

Venom 2 Carnage Has no ambition of breaking structures on which the cinema superhero. He goes to the safe path, based mainly on the comic duo conflicting buddies. But perhaps what we now need? The truth is that the film Serkis doing in cinemas better than all the others productions from the beginning of the pandemic, even outperforming Black Widow. This is not a film that we will think about long after the screening. However, it is a safe choice for those of us who just want to have fun, sit back with a box of popcorn and watch, like Tom Hardy saves the world again.
