TwoTwo

TwoTwo

David had it all. Good education, suit and tie job in the corporate world, an apartment with a view downtown LA.

His life falls apart when he loses this job, can’t find work anywhere else, and can’t pay his rent. Depressed and hungover from a night of pills and drinking, David wakes up in a dirty back alley. A homeless man strikes up conversation with him. David doesn’t want to listen, but the old man seems to know so much about life, and eerily enough, about him too. He makes David an offer: to “give it all up, in order to find it all over again,” in another universe very similar but much better than this one.

In this new world he meets Twotwo; mysterious and beautiful young woman named after her number who has unique powers she uses to help artists.

Movie Review

“You can’t just pluck people out of their lives and then throw them back in with nothing.” Good Deed Ent. has unveiled an official trailer for a low budget indie sci-fi TwoTwo, made by filmmaker Jun Hoskulds (watch their other film The Sublet). This premiered at a few small festivals last year and will be out on VOD starting February for anyone interested in watching. David had it all good education, suit-and-tie job in the corporate world, apartment with a view. Until he lost his job.

He encounters a homeless man who offers David to “give it all up, in order to find it all over again,” mostly the same but better parallel universe. Intrigued? “TwoTwo is a fantasy film; a metaphor about LIFE purpose connecting spirituality LOVE creativity parallel universes & UNSEEN PRESENCE [of] POWER always WATCHING!!!” Starring Joel Ballard as David + Morgan Makana as 22 + Kenneth Best + P.K. Simone. The acting in here is really bad, and it looks like the sci-fi concept is much bigger than the budget.

Socially awkward David (Joel Ballard) seems to have it all until he loses his corporate job and faces eviction. After hitting rock bottom, he wakes up in an alley where a homeless man offers him a way to change his life. It sounds too good to be true but with nothing left to lose, he accepts. Everything appears the same; then through a chance encounter with a mysterious young woman on the run named 22 “TwoTwo” (Morgan Makana) to her friends David discovers her uncanny ability to manifest reality as she imagines it, and their destinies become entwined.

TwoTwo is both written and directed by Los Angeles-based filmmaker Jun Hoskulds, director of The Sublet film, and one other short previously. This first premiered at a few fests last year including at Marbella Film Festival. Good Deed Ent. will release TwoTwo direct to VOD in US starting February 3rd, 2023. Visit the film’s official site.
