Star Lord actually Peter Quill. A space mercenary, superhero and leader of the group known as the Guardians of the Galaxy, which includes Drax, Rocket, Groot and Gamora. Appears in Marvel comics as well as (Marvel cinematic universe) movies and video games.
In movie, he was kidnapped from Earth by a Yondu. The criminal adopted him and made him an intergalactic thief. He was captured by Space Police during a Heist, he goes to prison, where he meets his future associates Draks, Rocket, Groot and Gamora. Together they form the Guardians of the Galaxy group.
During their adventures they fought, among others with Ronan and teamed up with the Avengers to face Thanos. In the MCU, the character is played by Chris Pratt.
