Robert Downey Jr. continues the media tour in connection with the Oscar campaign of “Oppenheimer”. In an interview for “Vanity Fair”, the actor revealed that the film’s director, Christopher Nolan, is not a fan of toilet breaks while working on the set.

“He doesn’t like it when you go to the bathroom, but he understands that you have to,” Downey Jr. recalled with amusement. – I asked him: “dude, when do you go to the bathroom?” He replied: “at 11 and 18.” And I thought to myself: Are you kidding me?

Downey Jr. is not the first actor to reveal that Nolan does not like downtime at work for trips to the bathroom. In an interview with Collider, Cillian Murphy, who plays the title role in Oppenheimer ,said: He has no compassion when it comes to pee breaks. I will put a full stop here.

Let us remind you that the topic of toilets also returned during this year’s Sundance festival. While presenting Nolan with the Trailblazer Award, Downey Jr. he said: diuretics are his kryptonite .

“Oppenheimer” – What is Nolan’s new film about?

The title character of the film is physicist Robert Oppenheimer, who played a key role in the Manhattan Project. The goal of the U.S. government-funded secret program was to create the first fully functional and controllable nuclear weapon. For this reason, Oppenheimer, who died in 1967, is sometimes called the father of the atomic bomb. The basis of the script, written by Nolan himself , is the book “American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of Robert Oppenheimer” by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin.

The title role in the film was played by Cillian Murphy. His screen partners include: Robert Downey Jr., Emily Blunt, Josh Hartnett, Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Gary Oldman, Casey Affleck, Benny Safdie, Dane DeHaan, Jack Quaid, Matthew Modine, Alden Ehrenreich, David Dastmalchian and Kenneth Branagh.

“Oppenheimer” turned out to be one of the biggest box office and artistic successes in Christopher Nolan’s career. In theaters alone, the film grossed nearly a billion dollars. So far he has also won, among others: 5 Golden Globes, 8 Critic’s Choice awards and 13 BAFTA nominations.
