Scott Stuber (American film producer)

Earthquake on Netflix. Scott Stuber, the person responsible for film production in the company for years, is leaving. As we found out, he will start his own company and stay at Netflix until March.

Scott Stuber – The Father Of The Netflix Blockbuster Era

Scott Stuber has been responsible for Netflix’s film production since 2017. During his time, the approach to filmmaking was completely changed. Stuber aimed to attract both cinema artists and creators of spectacular blockbusters to the platform . Thanks to him, Zack Snyder, Russo brothers, Michael Bay and Rawson Marshall Thurber became associated with the platform .

A new era in the history of the Netflix platform was marked by the film “Bright” with Will Smith. The film cost $90 million, which in 2017 was considered an outrageously high price for a film that was not released in theaters.

As it turned out, however, for Stuber it was pennies. In the following years, thanks to him, Netflix spent almost $300 million on the show “Red Notice” with Dwayne Johnson , Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot, over $200 million on “The Gray Man” with Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans and Ana de Armas, $200 million million for Martin Scorsese’sThe Irishman” and $469 million for two films from the “Knives Out” series. Stuber also made Netflix films count in the races for the most important awards. In 2020, 2021 and 2022, Netflix was the studio with the most Oscar nominations. Netflix has not announced Stuber’s successor yet. His place will be temporarily taken by the platform’s current CCO, Bela Bajaria.
