The story of Mildred Pierce is a five-part story of a single mother who, during the Great Depression, did not despair, but set out to build a new life and also her business. All the time fate tests the strength of the heroine and throws up unexpected surprises: a difficult divorce, setting up her own business, the death of a family man and finally the ingratitude of her eldest daughter. This mini-series is a must-see also because of the brilliant performance of Kate Winslet, who deservedly won a Golden Globe for her role. And by the way, this is not the first adaptation of the story of Mildred Pierce, in 1945, the novel of the same name by James Cain was transferred to the screen by Michael Curtiz with Joan Crawford in the title role.
