The world of movies, series and video games based on the comic universe of Marvel Comics. It includes not only stories from larger cinema series series (MCU), but also autonomous productions inspired by specific comic book series and their heroes. It is populated by famous superheroes including Iron Man, Spider Man, Hulk, Captain America, Hawkeye, or the X-Men team and their opponents, such as Magneto, Thanos, Green Goblin, and Red Skull and also anti-heroes – like Venom or Punisher or Deadpool.
Marvel’s world is a variation on the familiar geopolitical reality. The action of a story about superheroes most often takes place in existing cities (such as New York, Los Angeles, etc)
However, these stories feature fictional places and supernatural elements different galaxies, alien dimensions, time travel, and alternative versions of known reality. The Superheroes create team (like Avengers or Defenders), their opponents often change fronts and stand on the side of good (like Magneto or Nebula).
The godfather of this world is the late, legendary comic book author Stan Lee, who has appeared in films, games and series. The film and series center is the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), which includes films and series produced by Marvel Sudios continuously since 2007 and the premiere of Iron Man. Smaller cycles include, among others series of films about X-Men, different versions of the Spider Man story (Sony Pictures), or the “Blade Eternal Hunter” trilogy (New Line Cinema). The world of Marvel is a multi-level and heterogeneous reality the work of many creators, a field of numerous experiments (reboots and remakes) and the essence of the almost ninety-year history of the publishing house.
