LORD VOLDEMORT
Lord Voldemort (Tom Marvolo Riddle) is an extremely powerful wizard and the main character of J.K. Rowling’s series of movies. Known as He Who Must Not Be Named or You-Know-Who. He wanted to rule the wizarding world and he was directly responsible for the death of Harry‘s parents. He is played on screen by Ralph Fiennes.
His new name is an anagram from his real one (Tom Marvolo Riddle -I am Lord Voldemort). Tom Riddle was born in an orphanage and his mother died in childbirth. He was considered a strange and dangerous boy. The rejection made him hurt others very often, at that time he not understand that he was using magic to do so.
Hogwarts became home for him. He was a very good student and was obsessed with his origins. His many years of searching led him to discover that his father was a muggle who did not love his mother (a witch) and left her. Tom could not forgive his mother for just dying like that, despite her magical abilities. Through his kinship with Salazar Slytherin, he learned that he was serpentine. He found and opened the Chamber of Secrets. His reign of basilisk led to several petrification’s and eventually, the death of one student, Martha (whose spirit later inhabited the girls’ bathroom and was known as Moaning Martha). Riddle, who was a charismatic model student, teachers favorite, and he easily convinced the school board that the culprit was Rubeus Hagrid known for his love of dangerous animals. Hagrid was expelled from the school. Riddle tried to be less conspicuous while exploring the first secrets of dark magic with students of his ilk, who formed the core of a group that would later become known as the Death Eaters.
After leaving the school, Riddle traveled, discovered the secrets of dark magic, made contacts, and gained popularity as Lord Voldemort. He became increasingly bold in putting his dark plans into action, terrorizing the wizarding world. He recruited giants and werewolves who had been marginalized from that society, and convinced Death Eaters to use Unforgivable Spells. These events went down in history as the First Wizarding War, lasting as long as eleven years.
The end of Voldemort’s power was the night he decided to murder Harry Potter, a young boy from a magical family who was born at the end of July – according to the words of the prophecy. However, the sacrifice of Lily, Harry’s mother, caused the deadly spell to bounce back and ricochet into Voldemort himself. It didn’t return until 10 years later, found by the teacher of black magic, Quirinius Quirrell. He did not manage to get the stone of immortality – he was fully reborn during the Triwizard Tournament, during the ceremony in the cemetery in which Cedric Diggory died. He revealed himself to the world a year later, during a battle in the Department of Mysteries. This began a time of sneaky power grabs and skirmishes with members of the Order of the Phoenix, a secret organization set up by Dumledore. Voldemort’s activities became more and more overt, and at the same time he began to make a go of finding the Deathly Hallows.
After Dumbledore‘s death, the Dark Lord felt impunity, and at the same time was unaware that Potter was successively finding and destroying his Horcruxes. A second attempt to kill Harry during the Battle of Hogwarts resulted in the destruction of all the artifacts. In a conclusive duel, he died from the hands of Potter.
