Sharmin was a girl with big dreams. She had no idea that love was about to hit her in the face. In Rajshahi, amidst beautiful green fields, she found Farhan. Farhan is like a bird; he can’t be tamed. He called her ‘madam elachi’ and she thought him transparent as an open book. They were madly in love but distance soon became their unwelcome guest. He had to go to Australia to make something of himself there. Will love survive the struggles of long distance? Or will it crumble beneath the weight of relationship complexities?

For the first time ever, Tasnia Farin and Pritom Hasan shared screen space in Shihab Shaheen’s “Kacher Manush Dure Thuiya”. The beautiful backdrop of Rajshahi and Australia and on-screen chemistry between highly talented Farin and charismatic heartthrob Pritom is creating quite a buzz in social media.

Kacher Manush Dure Thuiya” narrates around the theme of long-distance relationships which according to the director is very relevant story hardly told in Bangladesh.

“With millions residing abroad involved in different sectors/professions, this film brings out an issue that has been surprisingly overlooked for so long by our storytellers. When The Ministry Of Love approached me for content, I saw an opportunity here,” Shaheen said.

We heard interesting behind the scene stories from their shooting days prior to release. Farin faced visa troubles due to her name while Pritom quenched his wanderlust riding on the roads of Australia with his scooty but despite everything they had a great time shooting there.

“I didn’t have much time for shooting there as we only had around 2-3 shoots there but I enjoyed roaming around this beautiful city a lot. As for my favorite scene from the web-film, it’s actually at last part which I can’t reveal right now because I want to keep it as a surprise,” said Farin. Interestingly, Shihab Shaheen’s most favorite scene was also the last one and he worried if they would be able to pull it off. “The moment was very challenging and I believe such kind of scene has never been captured in any Bangladeshi web film before.”

The film is based on a fictionalisd story but for Farin it became somewhat relatable as she herself is also in long distance relationship with her husband.

“When Shihab bhai shared me the story, I felt an instant connection as it resonated with my life. I told him that if he needs any input, then feel free to ask which eventually happened too. Normally while playing a character extensive research and referencing is needed but here since I could draw from my own life so it made things much easier for me,” said the actress.

As love evolved over generations its complications have only deepened with time. When asked whether the story delves into real life complexities both Farin and Shihab Shaheen gave their thoughts on this matter.

The story shows that distance can be a big barrier in love, the mind is not linear, and the distance of the heart proves to be a stronger obstacle than miles. Many people ask me if Sharmin and Farhan get back together at the end. To them I would say that reunion or separation does not always mean a happy ending. I think personal realization can also be considered as an ending filled with happiness,” said the actor.

While talking about falling in love, Shihab Shaheen was more pragmatic compared to Farin.

“Twice I went to Australia for doing background research on Bangladeshi students and professionals living there. I wanted to understand what they were going through, but 99 percent of them said long-distance relationships never work out. So my point was finding that one percent who made it work, and against all odds, two-three stories did exist. So I tried to balance these two extremes,” explained the director.

Only one song has been released from the web film called “Megh Balika”, which captures a unique chemistry between Farin and Pritom. The lyrics of this song are penned by Sadat Hossain while Emon Chowdhury composed its music; it is sung by Mahtim Shakib and Nandita together.

“We have done BGM and background score according to this melody only because although being different compositions altogether both have beautiful tunes which will surely touch hearts,” shared him.

This month Chorki released ‘Kacher Manush Dure Thuiya’ already as February comes closer towards its end date; now whether our path takes us down highways or if we choose direct flights into Shihab Shaheen’s bumpy tale about long distance love named ‘Kacher Manush Dure Thuiya’ still remains unknown.
