All set to leave the audience mesmerized with his upcoming film release Haddhu Ledhuraa, actor Ashish Gandhi has been acknowledged for commendable performances in movies such as Natakam, Director, Uniki, and Rudrangi. The movie is directed by Rajashekkar Raavi and will hit theaters on March 22, 2024. This film is going to be interesting for all the movie enthusiasts out there because of what it could do given its star’s track record of putting up engaging acts.
The story of Haddhu Ledhuraa revolves around the deep friendship between Doctor Krishna (Ashok) and Petrol Bunk Owner Arjun (Ashish Gandhi), who confront an invincible opponent with unfaltering bravery. Their relationship is rock solid and Arjun can go to any extent for the sake of Krishna.
Krishna’s life seems to settle down when he finds love in Sahasra (Hrithika Srinivas) but their world comes crashing down with the entry of Srushti (Varsha Vishwanath). The narration takes a dramatic turn leading to a series of events that connect their problems together with ex-MLA Gunasekhar (Rajiv Kanakala).
It shows how these two friends face challenges together while bringing out aspects like, strong friendship bonds, determination against all odds etcetera As twists and turns unfold throughout so does our understanding deepen until we reach the climax where every secret gets revealed along with full picture about difficulties faced by them most bravely.
Playing the doctor role, Ashok gives an unfortunately average performance where his expressions are shallow thus failing to lift scenes properly. He lacks variety in body language throughout the whole movie also confidence-inspiring pose appearing perpetually constrictedly single-handedly one facial expressioned figure.
On other hand though not bad enough by comparison but still needs more work done especially on the emotional delivery part which should have made bigger impact over viewership. Ashish Gandhi does his job well enough; believable stunts represent with fit physique for this character portrayed but some areas such as face acting could be improvised further since it would help connect better emotionally with audience here.
Acceptable work is done here too I must say considering she comes from yesterday’s heroine Vani Vishwanath lineage otherwise Varsha Vishwanath did not do much justice to her role because while being a proper ‘heroinish’ type person there was no spark that makes one stand out among others playing same kind of characters around industry Harshita Srinivas however brings lively presence onto screen as second female lead adding bubbly charm to proceedings each time these two appear together in shot.
When talking about acting performances given by Rajiv Kanakala and Tanikella Bharani they both delivered solid acts where their respective parts were convincingly played with great ease which made them look like real-life persons performing on stage or screen. Still, even though few may pass expression wise also depth of emotions need to be worked upon so far thereby enhancing the overall impact achieved through portrayal within a particular given context alongside other actors/actresses.
Initially, Haddhu Ledhuraa seems to promise us a story about friendship and love the first half introduces Krishna & Arjuna as friends who we get attached to immediately because of their bond. However, after this point things start going downhill rapidly with no strong scenes being provided throughout the movie.
As the movie carries on it becomes more predictable especially when displaying silly unintelligent love between main characters something that does not resonate well in most viewer’s minds. The first part ends without leaving any mark while second half seems like aimlessly wandering from one place/scene into another without clear direction or focus at all hence making screenplay weak even those twists lack excitement effect.
Toward the end of the film, one cannot help but feel relieved, some of them might even wish they had left during the intermission. The conversations are common and insignificant for most part with few exceptions. Gowtham Raj Nerusu’s editing is a disappointment but he can’t be blamed much because of insipid story and repetition of scenes.
Music by Kamal Kumar does offer a relief in couple of melodious songs which are shot beautifully. But the background score lacks the depth required. The cinematography by Ankani Anand is okayish while production values fall short of expectations. In totality, Haddhu Ledhuraa falls below par from what it promised initially and eventually leaves you in despair.
In other words, Haddhu Ledhura is not up to the mark as an entertainer that revolves around friendship and love. Rajashekkar Raavi has failed to come up with an imaginative narration which could have held viewer’s attention till last frame whereas screenplay & direction lack novelty thus making the whole plot look tedious.
Acting department also disappoints big time as none among cast members were able lift this film above average level through their performances itself. Taking all these factors into consideration Cinejosh gives “Haddhu Ledhu Raa” rating of 1 star which means below average.
