A character from Marvel comics, derived from the X-Men universe. An outspoken and joking former soldier of special services and a mercenary who get his superhuman abilities as a result of experiments.
Wade (Ryan Reynolds), a former secret service officer, worked as a mercenary. Shortly after he met a prostitute in a bar, Vanessa, with whom they were trying to form a happy relationship, he was diagnosed with cancer of multiple organs with metastases. He decided to start experimental therapy.
It endowed him with superhuman abilities and at the same time caused him to damage the skin, resembling a burn scar. Disagreements with the experimenter caused him to escape from the laboratory, leading to its destruction. However, he was afraid to go back to Vanessa because of his appearance. This prompted him to create an outfit and adopt a new identity – Deadpool.
Wade kills most of the people around experimenter ajax and leads to a direct fight. He threatens him with death, thus wanting to obtain a cure for his deformities. Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead prevent him from killing Ajax, offering to join the X-Men. When Ajax and Angel Dustthey kidnap Vanessa, persuade mutants to help him. He leads to a fight in which it turns out that the antidote he wanted which never existed, so he kills Ajax.
Remarkable regenerative abilities have a big influence on Deadpool’s psyche. They make him psychotic, and at the same time make him an extremely difficult opponent due to his improvised and chaotic fighting style.
Deadpool is not a mutant, it was created by scientists from the Weapon X Program. It has improved performance, strength, speed, endurance and reflexes, and an artificial regeneration factor from (Wolverine) has been added. It is probably number XI created as part of this program.
Deadpool is aware of being an (anti) comic book hero and very often breaks the fourth wall, which is most often used humorously. Ryan Reynolds first appeared in the role of Deadpool in X-Men Genesis: Wolverine. The character himself has been present in the Marvel cinematic universe since 1991.
